Introduction

The central objective of this course is to introduce students to philosophy.  This will be done from essentially two perspectives, namely, historical and comparative.  What may be called “philosophy” presents an extraordinary wealth of ways of thinking about reality, both human and non-human.  And this diversity varies across time and place.
