Introduction

The purpose of this course is to provide students with an introduction to University-level skills in writing and academic composition. Specifically, students will learn the skills necessary to produce original, University—level essays in four principal modes of writing and thinking: reflecting, reporting, explaining, and arguing. A constant emphasis will be placed on writing and thinking as a process that unfolds through critical engagement with topics and sources.
